Makeup Tips

Most women find the selection of their makeup products quiet confusing and befuddling. And many others end up spending a considerable amount of their money on products that are rarely used. Little wonder then that every time you open your makeup box you find a plethora of makeup items that have been stacking up for years and yet find minimum exploit in your daily routine.

While choosing makeup, opt for products that best compliment your skin, its color and texture. The following are a few guidelines to help you solve this never ending mystery of perfect makeup products and their usage.

Estimate the amount of money you spent on makeup products and beauty masks in the past years and then compare it to the amount spent on makeup removing products. What most women tend to ignore is the importance of proper makeup removal for a healthy skin. Your skin needs its due nourishment and cleansing after every makeup treatment and thus investing in such products is as important as the makeup itself. Use a moisturizing makeup remover to render your skin soft, glowing and clean.

Waterproof eye products such as eye liners and mascaras should be properly removed with a makeup remover before going to bed. This will surely save you sufficient time from trying to remove the hard-stuck black goop from your lashes and eyelids when you wake up in the morning.

If you use a foundation regularly then make it a point to replace it after every three months. The oils in foundation may go bad after a few months and hence may end up giving you unwanted zits and pimples. As compared to liquid products, powdered ones such as blushes and eye shadows last longer and should be replaced yearly.

Choosing the right shades of lipstick is extremely important for a complete look. Women with pale skin tones should opt for pink shades while those with a tan complexion should opt for dark, earthy tones.

When using a lip liner, make sure it matches the lipstick shade for a subtle and elegant look.

If you have spent hours trying to get the perfect model eye makeup look while applying mascara and ended up with clogged eyelashes then here’s a simple tip. Zigzag your mascara wand or brush in several directions while applying mascara for a separate eyelash look.

Dabbing a small amount of gold or silver mascara onto the centre of your eyelids will not only make you eyes look bigger but will also make them shimmer slightly every time you blink; thus drawing considerable attention to your eyes.

Women with thinner or shorter eyelashes should apply a sheer coating of Japanese rice powder onto their lashes before application of mascara in order to enhance the look and get a thicker and fuller lash line.
